British Financial Adviser Calls On Government To Ban Cryptocurrency Transactions

Neil Liversidge, owner of West Riding Personal Financial Solution, has submitted a petition to the UK government and parliament to ban cryptocurrency transactions.

The appeal states that the authorities at the legislative level should prohibit residents and businesses in the country from using digital currencies as a means of payment.

According to Liversidge, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have no intrinsic value, can have a destabilizing effect on society, are often used in the shadow sector, and their mining pollutes the environment. He believes that the introduction of the ban will lead to a collapse of the crypto market and undermine the financial base of crime.

According to the website of the UK government and parliament, the deadline for filing the petition is 7 July 2021. At the time of publication, 111 people supported the request.

It is not yet known how broad the support for Neil Liversidge’s initiative will be, but Bakkt Holdings predicts that in five years the value of the cryptocurrency market may increase to $ 3 trillion.
