China will begin to install standalone marriage terminals

Couples in the Chinese city of Xi’an will soon be able to register their marriage using face scans.

By the end of September, automated terminals with artificial intelligence will be installed in all registry offices of the city, where couples will be able to issue marriage certificates by scanning their faces or identity cards. To confirm the fact of marriage, the digital version of the certificate will be officially registered in the system.

Authorities expect AI terminals to increase the efficiency of registration institutions and reduce errors when filling out documents. It will also reduce the number of contacts between people, which will prevent the spread of coronavirus.

With the introduction of the new system, the entire process can be carried out completely in electronic form.

Recall that from December 1, to receive Internet services or a mobile phone number, the Chinese need to undergo the mandatory face scan procedure.
