Cryptocurrency exploits used during mass cyber attack on Australia
The Australian Cybersecurity Center found that in a recent hacking of national networks, a group of hackers exploited a vulnerability commonly associated with crypto jacking.
According to a published report, during the attacks, the attackers used four exploits in the Telerik user interface, including CVE-2019-18935, which was recently used by the Blue Mockingbird group to infect thousands of systems with a program for hidden mining of Monero.

Although the ACC’s document does not say whether hackers who call themselves “statesmen” could spread malware during a recent cyber attack, this vulnerability is the preferred option for installing crypto jacking applications on corporate networks.
Some Australian officials even suggested that Chinese hacker groups were involved in the mass attack, which might have been angry with the country’s government trying to conduct an investigation into the Celestial Empire about the origin of the COVID-19 virus.
During the coronavirus outbreak, hackers also began to use infection monitoring cards to spread malware.
