Microsoft has warned cryptocurrency owners about new cyber threats
Microsoft’s research unit has warned digital asset owners that their funds in crypto wallets may be at risk due to the new Anubis virus.
The Microsoft Security Intelligence (MSI) team found malware that has a code similar to the common Android Loki Trojan. Its main function is to steal the credentials of cryptocurrency wallets, bank cards and other personal information from Windows users.

MSI is leaning towards Anubis as a controllable virus, as it originally only appeared in companies using only a few known download URLs and C2 servers.
The malware is currently spreading through a number of websites by deceiving visitors. Once loaded, it uses the HTTP POST command to send personal data to monitored servers.
Loki’s source code used social engineering tools to deceive, therefore, to avoid infection, MSI experts recommend that you do not open attachments in suspicious messages and emails.
Researchers at Microsoft Defender ATP have previously reported a new type of malware for stealthy cryptocurrency mining.
