Samsung plans to launch 6G network by 2028

Samsung Electronics has announced plans to deploy commercial 6G networks by 2028.

According to a published document, starting next year, the International Telecommunication Union should begin to develop the 6G concept. Samsung believes that adopting next-generation communications standards will take less time than switching from 4G to 5G.

The South Korean conglomerate plans to bring a new type of network to every aspect of our daily lives. However, for the full development of the technology, researchers will need to achieve a data transfer rate of 1000 Gbit / s with a signal delay in the air of no more than 100 microseconds, which, respectively, is 50 and 10 times higher than the maximum 5G.

In addition, it will be necessary to develop new requirements for the architecture and performance of networks, as well as expand the capabilities of mobile devices using artificial intelligence systems.

Samsung plans are quite justified, since scientists are already working in this direction. For example, Russian researchers recently introduced a data encoding method for the 6G standard.
