ŠKODA has created a program that detects problems in a car by its sound

Czech automaker ŠKODA has released an artificial intelligence-based software solution that can identify problems with a car by simply listening to how it works.

The Sound Analyzer app performs diagnostics by recording the current engine noise and comparing it to sound images of normal vehicles. Using artificial intelligence algorithms, the system automatically examines audio circuits of specific models, determines if there are any problems, and suggests ways to solve them.

According to the manufacturer, the current version of the program is capable of analyzing 10 sound patterns with an accuracy of 90%. Among other things, it evaluates the steering system, the air conditioning compressor and the clutch in the direct shift transmission.

ŠKODA has been testing the app since 2019, and 245 dealers in 14 countries, including Russia, took part in the tests. The company continues to expand the list of supported audio circuits and the effectiveness of their comparison to simplify the work of auto mechanics and improve the quality of service for their vehicles.

We also previously reported on the development of the first AR navigation app for drivers.
