Virgin Galactic unveils new supersonic aircraft design for space tourism

Virgin Galactic has signed an agreement with Rolls-Royce to design and develop a new supersonic passenger aircraft for short trips on the fringes of space.

According to a press release, the partners will work on the design of a commercial delta-wing aircraft that can travel at three times the speed of sound. Most of the time it will cruise above 18 km, carrying up to 19 people on board.

The salon is focused on the fact that each passenger will receive first class or business class service. One of the main conditions for the development of the project is the use of environmentally friendly fuel that will not pollute the environment.

Despite claims of unique design, the model resembles the low-noise NASA X-59 experimental aircraft.
